VBS 2018 Shipwrecked By Jesus

On Monday our bible point was: When you’re lonely, Jesus rescues! Our key verse was Psalm 27:10, “The Lord will hold me close.” On Tuesday the bible point was: When you worry, Jesus rescues! The key verse was Psalm 34:19, “The Lord comes to the rescue each time.” On Wednesday our bible point was: When you do wrong, Jesus rescues! The key verse was John 16:33, “Here on Earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.” On Thursday our bible point was: When you’re powerless, Jesus rescues! Our key verse was Ephesians 1:19-20, “This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead.”

As exhausting as VBS is for our volunteers, it is that much fun for our kids! I speak for myself but it can be overwhelming. The kids, however, are tireless, excited, and joyful. They have fun and learn about Jesus and, to be honest, I do too! I am as far from a biblical scholar as reality TV is from the history channel but I can’t help but absorb and ruminate on what they are learning in their rotations.
