Holy Week 2018

Holy Week 2018

Holy Week

Holy Week activities kick-off at Southeast Baptist Church on March 25th, Palm Sunday, with worship at 10:15 a.m. Our Good Friday service begins on March 30th at 6:30 p.m. and it will be a communion service. There will be childcare for those who need it. On Easter morning at 7:00 a.m. we will be participating in a multi-church sunrise service at the ball field at Tabernacle United Methodist, across from the Food Lion on Woody Mill. Come and worship alongside members from seven local churches! It’s an amazing opportunity to witness for Christ. We will still have Sunday school at 9 a.m. on Easter morning, followed by a special Easter cantata entitled, “Forsaken” performed by our adult choir.

Other Activities

Aside from our Easter activities, on Wednesday March 28th, the youth will be serving at Grace Kitchen. If you are looking for an area of service, this is a good opportunity to work alongside our youth as they serve meals to the needy. There will be no evening activities at Southeast on Easter Sunday or Wednesday, April 4th.

Southeast Sports Outreach spring soccer games begin on Saturday April 7th. This season we are introducing the “Take Two” initiative. In order to have a successful Saturday of games, we need anywhere from 60-75 people helping out! That means we need you! We are asking church members to “Take Two” hours out of their week to help the soccer program meet its goals. With over 200 children participating this spring season, we need more help than ever. Anyone who can make time for this important outreach should take a look at the sign-up sheet on the soccer bulletin board across from the office. Each and every Saturday in the spring and fall soccer seasons we have the opportunity to reach hundreds of families. We need to make sure that we are making the most of this important opportunity.

Past/Ongoing Activities

On Wednesday, March 21st we had our Recharge service. This particular service was awesome to me; I felt literally recharged at the end of it. Simply singing extra praise songs with a good message in between can “recharge” the mind and soothe the soul, placing our focus on God midweek in addition to our usual Sunday services. In the past we’ve booked blue grass bands and special guest speakers and we will continue to plan services such as those in the future. Our Recharge services are on the third Wednesday of each month. Come for dinner at 5:15 p.m. and stay for the service. There is childcare for preschoolers but bring your school-age kids along!
