In my earthly journey here
I've been blessed with friends so dear.
Friends who meant so very much
Now that they're gone, I miss their touch.

Stalwart friends, brave and true;
Friends who stood along side you.
They would never let you down
When you needed them around

Friends whose lives influenced you
With wisdom and encouragement, too.
Young friends, old friends, I'll not guess
Or try to figure which were best.

Friends who walked life's paths with me,
Helped me my own faults to see.
Then showed to me a better way,
I appreciate them more each day.

When I was walking life's troubled roads
My friends, they helped me carry the loads.
And when I stumbled or when I fell,
They helped me up and wished me well.

Oh, the friends I've had in years gone by,
I think of them and wonder why;
At that time in life I could not see
How much each dear friend meant to me.

I only know I miss them all
As their friendships I do recall.
And when I reach for Heaven's door,
I'll rejoice in seeing old friends once more.
